This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it and what rights you have. It applies to betmanbegins.be and any page on this domain. It does not cover the products we build for our clients — those run under the privacy policy of the client operating them.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Betmanbegins is a trading name of Match-it BV, with registered address Verschansingstraat 54, 2000 Antwerpen, Belgium, enterprise number BE 0696.633.610. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What we collect and why

Data you give us through the contact form. When you request a demo, a quote or pricing, we ask for:

• your name and email address (required, so we can reply);
• your company name (optional);
• the service you are interested in;
• any message you choose to write.

We use this only to answer your enquiry and, if it leads somewhere, to follow up about a possible collaboration. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, and where a contract follows, the steps taken at your request before entering into that contract.

Data you give us directly. If you contact us by email, WhatsApp, Telegram or LinkedIn, we process whatever you send us in that message, for the same purpose.

Technical data. Our web server records standard request data such as your IP address, the pages you request, timestamps, and your browser and device type. We use this to keep the site running securely and to diagnose faults. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security and availability of our website.

3. What we do not do

We do not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking on this website. We do not build profiles, we do not use automated decision-making, and we do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone.

4. Cookies

This website only uses strictly necessary cookies. They keep your connection to our server working while you browse and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. They contain no advertising or tracking identifiers, and they are not used to recognise you on other websites. Because they are strictly necessary for a service you requested, no consent banner is required for them under Belgian and EU rules.

5. Third parties that may see your IP address

Some elements of this site are loaded from external providers. When your browser requests them, that provider receives your IP address and basic browser information. These providers are:

• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — typefaces;
• jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) — icon fonts;
• Unsplash (images.unsplash.com) — some images.

We also use a hosting provider and an email provider to run this website and to receive the messages you send through the contact form. They act as processors on our instructions. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. How long we keep your data

• Contact form enquiries and related correspondence: up to 3 years after our last contact, so we can pick up a conversation where we left it.
• Data relating to a signed agreement: for as long as the agreement runs, plus the statutory retention periods that apply to it (10 years for accounting records under Belgian law).
• Server logs: up to 12 months.

After those periods we delete the data or anonymise it.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased, where there is no overriding reason for us to keep it;
• ask us to restrict how we process your data;
• receive the data you gave us in a portable format;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interest.

Email michiel@betmanbegins.be and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels (dataprotectionauthority.be), or with the supervisory authority of the EU country where you live.

8. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to the people who need it, and up-to-date software. No system is perfect, but if a breach ever affects your rights, we will notify you and the supervisory authority as required by law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or the way we work changes. The date at the top always shows the current version. Significant changes will be communicated on this page.
